Empire State Building to go dark to mark Las Vegas shooting

The Empire State Building will go dark on Monday to mark the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas.

The building will darken its lights “in sympathy for the victims and those affected by the attack in Las Vegas,” a statement said. 

“The display will include a rotating orange halo effect to shine a light on gun violence awareness,” the statement said.

{mosads}At least 58 people were killed and hundreds were injured when a gunman opened fire on a country music festival in Las Vegas.

The suspected gunman was identified as Stephen Paddock, a Nevada resident who was found dead in his hotel room in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, from where he shot down at the crowd.

The FBI said Monday the mass shooting, the deadliest in American history, had no connection to international terrorist groups.

President Trump on Monday called the shooting an “act of pure evil.”

Several lawmakers have called for Congress to take action on gun violence in the aftermath of the shooting.
