Rickshaws Hit D.C.
After D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty declared pedicabs–aka bicycle-powered rickshaws–the official vehicle of President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration on Friday, the pedicabs have arrived in Washington.
Around 100 rickshaws are operating in D.C. for the inauguration, those in the rickshaw/pedicab community estimate, many having come in from out of town (Ken Cameron of Road Warrior Rickshaws estimated that about 70 rickshaws have flocked to the capital for Obama’s swearing in).
