Colbert mocks Trump for canceling DMZ trip over fog
Late night host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday mocked President Trump for canceling his trip to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea because of fog.
“That’s right North Korea. Watch out, Kim Jong Un, do not test Donald Trump, because if you do he will rain down fire and fury the likes of which the world has never seen. Unless it is misty, in which case, Seoul is all yours,” Colbert said on his show.
Trump is in the middle of a 13-day trip to Asia amid heightened tensions between the United States and North Korea. Most of Trump’s predecessors have visited the DMZ.

Prior to leaving for Asia, Trump told reporters he’d rather not say whether he’d visit the DMZ, adding “you’ll be surprised.”
“Does Donald Trump know what the word surprise means?” Colbert asked.
Ultimately, the visit was canceled due to bad weather. Trump attempted to fly to the DMZ on Marine One from Seoul, but had to turn back, according to the White House.
Colbert also ripped Trump for talking about his election victory a year ago and promoting one of his golf courses during his remarks to South Korea’s National Assembly.
“Now it may sound crass, but a lot of presidents use foreign trips to hawk their products,” Colbert said. “Remember, when Nixon went to China, he was there just to promote ‘Dick Nixon’s Salad Fixins.’ ”
