Palin to Couric: You’re Not the Center of the Universe

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) blasted the media for perpetuating “gossip and lies” about her during her vice presidential campaign, taking aim at CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric in particular for having asked which newspapers she reads.

“Katie, you’re not the center of everybody’s universe,” Palin responded, in an interview with John Ziegler at Big Hollywood, to Couric’s asking why no media organization had followed up on her question to Palin this fall on which news sources Palin follows.

“Maybe that’s why they didn’t think to ask that question–because there are so many others to be asked,” Palin added.

Palin also said that sketches on Saturday Night Live by comedienne Tina Fey referencing her children makes “the mama grizzley” in her to rise up, though she said she still would have gone on the show.

Among other things, Palin said there was a double standard in the media for her and New York Senate candidate Caroline Kennedy.
