The Marine Corps is investigating several service members after Snapchat videos emerged that show Marines yelling racial slurs, the Marine Corps Times reported.

The service became aware of the videos, which show at least two men drinking and making a racist comment, after an activist and teacher in New Jersey tweeted to the Marine Corps on Nov. 18.

{mosads}“Is this commonplace @USMC?” he asked.

The III Marine Expeditionary Force confirmed to the newspaper that “some of the individuals portrayed in the videos are U.S. Marines.”

“The actions depicted in the videos are not in keeping with the high standard of conduct to which we hold all our Marines. We will thoroughly investigate the matter and take appropriate action based on the results of the investigation,” the statement adds.
