President Trump on Tuesday night praised the Republican Party for advancing its tax-reform agenda and trumpeted a judge’s decision to side with his administration in a legal battle over who’s in charge of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

“Great day for Tax Cuts and the Republican Party. But the biggest Winner will be our great Country!” Trump tweeted.

His tweet comes after Senate Republicans cleared a key hurdle in their effort to reform the tax code when the Senate Budget Committee voted to advance the bill on a party-line vote.

Trump also praised a federal court’s decision to side with his pick to temporarily head the CFPB, Mick Mulvaney.

“Just won the lawsuit on leadership of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, CFPB. A big win for the Consumer!” Trump tweeted.

His remark came hours after a federal judge, who is also a Trump appointee, rejected a lawsuit filed by Leandra English, who argued that she, not Mulvaney, was the rightful acting director of the agency.
