Burning objects thrown at synagogue in Sweden: reports

Burning objects were thrown at a synagogue in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, late Saturday, according to multiple reports.

More than a dozen men thew firebombs at the synagogue shortly after 10 p.m. local time. The incident happened while a party for local youths took place inside the synagogue.

Police told Expressen TV, a CNN affiliate, that they believe the objects thrown were Molotov cocktails.

Police inspector Peter Nordengard told reporters that the fire department extinguished flames from the burning objects. The synagogue did not catch fire, and the incident is reportedly being investigated.  {mosads}
