NHL Goalie Trips Over Palin’s Carpet, Leaves Game

Another Sarah Palin puck drop went awry Friday night.

The Republican veep nominee, who was booed when she dropped the puck at a Philadelphia Flyers game two weeks ago, was tapped to do the honors again at a St. Louis Blues game Friday. But before the puck-drop ceremony, Blues goalie Manny Legace tripped over the ceremonial carpet rolled out for her on the ice. Legace started the game but left with an undisclosed injury. Legace appeared to have hurt his leg, as he was seen stretching it during the game.

The puck drop went better for Palin, the self-described hockey mom; she was cheered.

UPDATE: The Associated Press reports that Legace injured his hip.

See the video of Legace’s fall below, followed by footage of Palin’s entrance. (Hat tip: Boiler Room Sports.)
