Protester projects ‘Oppose Racism. Oppose Trump’ on California building during Trump visit

A protester in California on Tuesday night projected the words “Oppose Racism. Oppose Trump” on a building across the street from the hotel in which President Trump was expected to stay.

The words were projected on the Figueroa Tower, across the street from the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Tudor Popescu — who brought the projector to cast the words on the building — told the Times he had been protesting the president’s visit in Beverly Hills earlier in the day. {mosads}

He said he then took a bus with a number of other protesters to downtown Los Angeles.

“It’s a sad day to have Trump here,” he said. “But our spirit isn’t broken.”

Trump visited California on Tuesday to view prototypes for his proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

He was met with hundreds of protesters, who carried signs and props to voice their opposition to the president.

California has emerged as a fierce opponent of Trump’s policies, particularly on immigration. The Justice Department announced last week it is suing the state over three of its so-called sanctuary laws, which protect immigrants in the country illegally.
