Fox’s Levin challenges Schiff over alleged leaks: ‘Take a lie detector test’

Fox News host Mark Levin is challenging Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to take a lie detector test to prove he isn’t leaking nonpublic information out of the House Intelligence Committee.

“You’re the ranking Democrat on the committee,” Levin said, addressing the camera directly, during an interview Wednesday night with Fox’s Sean Hannity.

“I have a challenge for you: Why don’t you take a lie detector test? Why don’t you take a lie detector test so the American people can be sure that you, all over TV, ubiquitous, you might as well be on airport radar and sonograms. You’re everywhere, sir,” the conservative radio talk show host added.

{mosads}”You tell us you don’t leak. OK, take a lie detector test because I believe you do.”

The analysis from Levin, who launched his weekly Sunday night program on Fox News last month, comes days after Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said that Congress leaks information to the press “like sieves,” citing Schiff, the ranking Democratic member on the House Intelligence Committee, as an example.

“Anyone who’s watched Congress over the last 12 months — we leak like sieves. And I say ‘we’ only because I’m a member of Congress,” Gowdy told Fox’s “Special Report” last week.

“Serious investigations don’t leak,” he continued. “The executive branch investigations, whether it’s your local district attorney or whether it’s [special counsel Robert] Mueller — there are far fewer leaks from Bob Mueller than there are from Adam Schiff.”

In December, Schiff’s office responded to allegations of leaking to the press with a statement categorically denying the charge.

“Ranking Member Schiff and his staff do not leak classified or confidential information, and any disclosure of non-public information by the congressional committees undertaking investigations is singularly unhelpful,” Schiff’s office said.

“It is imperative that all investigations into Russia’s covert political interference campaign operate with appropriate discretion and refrain from publicizing information for short-sighted political gain.”
