Romney Stumps for Myers in Jersey’s 3rd District

Former Republican presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney endorsed congresssional candidate Chris Myers (R) in New Jersey’s 3rd district, and held a fundraiser to help Myers’s bid against Democratic state Sen. John Adler.

“I don’t think people recognize how unique it is to find a person with a good heart and a great mind and also unique experience, a combination that is sorely needed in Washington,” Romey said, according to the Press of Atlantic City. “For me to pass the baton to somebody like Chris Myers, to manage that Congressional side of that national security industry that’s in this district, there is nobody like Chris Myers. Certainly, not his opponent.”

Myers is up against Adler in a contentious race to replace Rep. Jim Saxton (R), who is retiring. The Cook Political Report rates this D+3 district a toss-up.
