Republican campaigns and committees spent more than twice as much as Democrats dining at restaurants on Capitol Hill from 2015 to 2018, according to an analysis by The Washington Post.

Democratic campaigns and committees spent roughly $500,000 at such establishments, the Post reported. Republicans, on the other hand, spent more than twice as much.

The figures are specific only to restaurants in the area near the Capitol, just southeast of the House office buildings, and do not cover the rest of Washington.

Among the establishments where Republicans spent the most money were Sonoma, a restaurant and wine bar on Pennsylvania Avenue SE, and Stanton & Greene, another restaurant a block from there.

Tortilla Coast and Bullfeathers, both on First Street SE, also saw a fair amount of Republican business, the Post found. That’s not unexpected, however, with both establishments sitting just across the street from Republican National Committee headquarters.

Likewise, Democratic campaigns and committees spent the most at Sonoma, though Republicans outspent them there by $155,000, according to the analysis.

Coming in at No. 2 for Democratic spending from 2015 to 2018 was Stanton & Greene, followed by We the Pizza, the Post reported.
