Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Thursday told The Hill that direct talks between the Trump administration and North Korea represent “a step forward.”

“I think the idea of sitting down and having direct negotiations with North Korea is a step forward, and I hope it works out well,” Sanders said, before adding that overall “Pompeo’s views on too many issues are issues that I can’t support.”
Pompeo traveled to meet with Kim Jong Un to set up a meeting between President Trump and the North Korean leader.
