YouTube on Tuesday night went down for more than an hour, impacting users across the globe.

The video-sharing website, which is a subsidiary of Google, acknowledged the outage in a tweet after users began posting about it on other social media platforms.

“Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues,” the company tweeted at 9:41 p.m. EDT. “We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated.”

More than an hour later, YouTube’s Twitter account notified followers that the website was back up and running.

“We’re back! Thanks for all of your patience. If you continue to experience issues, please let us know,” the site tweeted at 11 p.m. EDT.

YouTube didn’t specify in its statement why the site had gone dark. Contacted by The Associated Press for more information, a Google spokesperson said, ““We don’t have anything to add beyond the tweet.”
