Eric Trump calls out Holder on kicking comments: ‘Who says this?’

Fox and Friends

Eric Trump on Thursday called out former Attorney General Eric Holder for comments made at a campaign event earlier this month.

He noted comments made by the former Obama administration official while discussing the “lack of civility” he says he notices on the left.

{mosads}”You know the lack of civility is always something that bothered me,” Trump said after telling “Fox and Friends” that he has experienced harassment from detractors on the left.

“I mean you look at Eric Holder a couple days ago: ‘When they’re down, we kick them in the head.’ Who says this? I mean who does that?”

The attorney general made the comments Trump referred to at a campaign event earlier this month, though he did not say “kick them in the head.”

Adapting Michelle Obama’s phrase first said at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, “When they go low, we go high,” Holder said Democrats need to go in a new direction.

“No,” Holder said of those comments. “When they go low, we kick them. That’s what this new Democratic Party is about.”

Trump described Holder’s statements as being part of a larger pattern among progressives.

“They’re the first ones to say, you know, [President] Trump he promotes evil and he’s racist and he’s sexist,” the president’s son said. “And then you hear these people — you saw what Hillary said the other day. I mean it’s truly, truly horrible.”

Eric Trump was noting comments made by 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who said last week that those on the left “cannot be civil with” Republicans because the GOP “wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.”

The discussion began on “Fox & Friends” with the example of two Minnesota Republicans who have said they were attacked earlier this week for their politics.

“Yeah they come after us,” Trump said, when asked if he was ever treated with incivility. “We get comments — yeah we’ll be just fine.”

“But that lack of civility is really incredible,” he said. “I mean they’re the first person to point the finger, ‘Hey, they promote hate. They promote violence.’ “

Trump pointed specifically to a female Republican campaign manager in Nevada who was allegedly assaulted by a male Democrat.

“It’s horrible,” Trump said of the incident. “It’s absolutely horrible.”
