Ginsburg attends Medal of Freedom ceremony amid recovery from fall
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg attended a White House ceremony awarding the Medal of Freedom on Friday, just over a week after she was hospitalized from a fall that left her with three fractured ribs.
“Glad to see you’re feeling great,” President Trump said at the ceremony when he saw Ginsburg in the audience.

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), who was one of the award’s recipients, also posted a picture of him hugging Ginsburg at the ceremony, writing “Thrilled to see Justice Ginsburg doing so well.”

The ceremony also honored Ginsburg’s former colleague, the late Supreme Court Justice, Antonin Scalia, musician Elvis Presley, baseball Hall of Famer Babe Ruth and Miriam Adelson, the wife of GOP mega-donor Sheldon Adelson, among others.
{mosads}Ginsburg has become a sensation among millennials, who affectionately dubbed her the “Notorious R.B.G” after the rapper Notorious B.I.G., and those who admire her as a symbol of legal progressiveness on the high court.
Fans flooded social media with concern after news that she had been hospitalized following her fall earlier this month.
“Is rib donation a thing? If it is, I volunteer,” one supporter tweeted.

Ginsburg and Trump have had an embittered relationship. Then-candidate Trump attacked the 85-year-old justice in 2016 after she told The New York Times she “can’t imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump as our president.”
“For the country, it could be four years,” she said. “For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.”
“Justice Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court has embarrassed all by making very dumb political statements about me. Her mind is shot – resign!” Trump responded.
