Former Vice President Mike Pence blasted President Biden on Sunday, saying that “nobody is buying Bidenomics.”

Fox News’s Shannon Bream asked the former vice president on “Fox News Sunday” if he agreed with Rep. Mark Alford’s (R-Mo.) opinion piece published in The Hill in which he took aim at Biden for not explaining what the U.S. interest is in Ukraine. Pence said he agreed with that assessment, but that he still supports providing Ukraine with the resources they need.

He then said he agreed with the congressman that the economy is struggling.

“But let me also say, I want to strongly agree with him that this economy is struggling,” he said.
“I know you got another guest coming on, of the Biden administration trying to make a case that Bidenomics is working. But nobody is buying Bidenomics.”

Pence, who is running for the GOP presidential nomination, said that he believes the country is “in a lot of trouble,” citing Bidenomics as a reason why.

“Well, Shannon, I’m running for president because I think this country is in a lot of trouble. I think Joe Biden has weakened America at home and abroad,” he said. “Bidenomics has been a disaster for American families, and that withdrawal from Afghanistan has emboldened enemies of freedom around the world.”

“And I say with humility — I’m just simply the most experienced, tested and proven conservative running for the Republican nomination today,” he added.

The White House began touting its “Bidenomics” agenda ahead of the first anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act becoming law, implementing policies that are focused on tackling inflation, increasing jobs and keeping unemployment low. The president and other officials have since traveled to promote the agenda, which is expected to become a major theme of his 2024 campaign.
