President Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, said on Thursday that he expects Trump to embrace House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in the new Congress.
“Now that the Democrats are in control of Congress, you’re going to see him embracing Speaker Pelosi. He’s already said he’ll help deliver votes if that’s what’s needed. He wants to work in a bipartisan fashion because that’s what he did when he was in New York,” Lewandowski told Hill.TV’s Jamal Simmons and Buck Sexton on “Rising.”
House Democrats voted to nominate Pelosi as the next Speaker by a large margin on Wednesday. She faces a vote in the full House in January.
Lewandowski went on to say that he could see Republicans and Democrats compromising on issues such as transportation and infrastructure.
“I think what the people see is a president’s policies who they agree with, but they don’t like his delivery method,” he said.
Trump and Republicans frequently used Pelosi on the campaign trail to fire up the GOP base ahead of the midterms.
The president earlier this month said in a tweet that Pelosi deserved to be Speaker.
I can get Nancy Pelosi as many votes as she wants in order for her to be Speaker of the House. She deserves this victory, she has earned it – but there are those in her party who are trying to take it away. She will win! @TomReedCongress

It is unlikely that Republicans will actually back Pelosi for the Speakership in January.
