Watch live: House Homeland Security Committee talks evolving threats since terrorist attacks
The Republican-led House Homeland Security Committee is meeting Tuesday morning to discuss the state of terrorist threats in the present world.
Yesterday, GOP presidential candidate and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) criticized President Biden’s decision to observe the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in Alaska, rather than New York City, linking the venue choice to other recent times Biden has been absent from disaster sites.
Vice President Harris was present in New York, First Lady Jill Biden attended a ceremony at the Pentagon and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff traveled to Shanksville, Penn.
This anniversary held a particular poignancy, as the remains of two additional victims of the 9/11 attacks have been identified, New York City Mayor Eric Adams stated Friday.
The field hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m.
