President Biden’s reelection campaign raised more than $71 million in the third quarter of 2023, the campaign announced Sunday.

The team also reported that the campaign has nearly $91 million in cash on hand, which it says is “the highest total amassed by any Democratic candidate in history at this point in the cycle.” The numbers released on Sunday include the campaign’s haul, the joint fundraising committees’ haul and the Democratic National Committee’s fundraising.

The third quarter amount is roughly on par with the more than $72 million the campaign raised in the second quarter and, at the time, it said it had $77 million in cash on hand. Biden officially launched his reelection campaign in April.

The campaign also touted on Sunday that it raised “significantly more than any of the GOP 2024 campaigns” and that the cash on hand amount is expected to be more than the Republican candidates’ have combined.

Former President Trump, the GOP frontrunner, raised more than $45 million in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) raised $15 million and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) raised more than $11 million.

The Biden campaign also announced it brought in over 240,000 new donors since April, who didn’t give to the 2020 campaign, and has over 112,000 people who have committed to donating every month.

“We are especially proud of our efforts to exponentially grow our grassroots donor base, now having over a hundred thousand Americans signed up to donate on a recurring basis from now until Election Day,” campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement.

“These numbers are a testament to one of our core objectives early in this campaign: raise the resources needed to run an aggressive campaign that will win in November 2024,” Rodriguez added.

Additionally, the campaign said that 97 percent of its donations were under $200 and that the average grassroots contribution was $40.

Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign, which raised over $1 billion total, included $700 million in small dollar donations.
