MyPillow CEO says Trump was ‘chosen by God’ to run for president

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell declared that God had chosen President Trump to run against Hillary Clinton at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday.

In a speech to the conservative activist conference posted to Twitter by Right Wing Watch, Lindell said Trump’s victory in November 2016 was “a miracle” directly caused by divine intervention.

{mosads}“As I stand before you today, I see the greatest president in history. Of course he is. He was chosen by God,” Lindell told the audience.

“God answered our prayers, our millions of prayers, and gave us grace, and a miracle happened on Nov. 8, 2016,” Lindell continued. “We were given a second chance and time granted to get our country back on track with our conservative values and getting people saved in Jesus’s name.”

Lindell, who founded his company after recovering from a cocaine and alcohol addiction, became a public supporter of Trump during the 2016 campaign following a meeting with the then-candidate in New York. During Thursday’s remarks, however, Lindell said he was on board far before that meeting.

“I now bring you back in time to the summer of 2015,” Lindell told the crowd, according to The Washington Times. “I see Donald Trump coming down an escalator and announcing he is running for president. For me it was a divine and miraculous moment — I felt something miraculous was about to unfold.”

Lindell previously attended a White House event on opioid addiction last fall and has stated in interviews that he hires employees with histories of drug addiction like himself.
