• Tessa Gould is joining Forbes Tate Partners. She previously was chief of staff to former Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) for more than six years and served as her campaign manager in 2012.
• Miller & Chevalier announced that Thomas M. Cryan Jr. rejoined the firm as a member of the Employee Benefits Department. Cryan, who practiced at Miller & Chevalier from 2008 to 2012, most recently worked at Littler Mendelson P.C. His focus is on executive compensation, fringe benefits and employment tax matters.
• Ex-Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.), a former chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, was named co-chairman of the International Tax and Investment Center’s Board of Directors. He succeeds Thomas Pickering, a former under secretary of State and ambassador to the United Nations. Camp left Congress in 2015.
• Jeff Evans will be an associate director of public policy at the American Society of Association Executives. He was the assistant director of government and legislative affairs at the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association for a year and a half and before that worked for more than two years as the manager of government affairs at the National Sleep Foundation.
• Former Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) joined Akin Gump as a partner in its public law and policy practice. He will work in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.
