At least 41 killed in Russian plane fire

41 people have been killed after a Russian plane caught fire during an emergency landing, the Russian state news agency TASS reported, citing an investigative committee.

The plane, which was carrying 73 passengers and five crew members, left the airport en route to the northern city of Murmansk and requested an emergency landing soon after taking off.

A criminal case has been initiated on charges of violation of safety rules resulting in the death of two or more people.

A video of the incident shows flames and smoke surrounding the plane.
