A Canadian man reportedly tore down and burned a nearby resident’s Nazi flag, saying he took matters into his own hands because “authorities weren’t going to.”

Caleb Pelletier posted a video on Facebook of him burning the red flag with a black swastika on it, according to local news outlet CTV Regina.

Pelletier noticed both the Nazi flag and a Confederate flag hanging on top of a house in the community of Kelliher, located in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, and said that since law enforcement would not remove the flag, he decided to remove it and burn it himself.

{mosads}“I made the decision when the authorities weren’t going to make it,” Pelletier told the news outlet. “I believe it affected so many of our people so I took matters into my own hands and now they are taken down and burned.”

Kelliher Mayor Darcy King said the 34-year-old man who hung the flag atop his house “never grew up,” according to CTV Regina. King added that the man had promised he would remove the flag, according to the local news outlet.

It is not currently known if Pelletier will face charges for burning the man’s flags.
