New York Post lambasts de Blasio’s presidential bid
The New York Post laid into Bill de Blasio (D) after he announced his presidential bid, mocking New York’s mayor with a cover showing young people pointing at a television screen and laughing at the news.
“America begged and pleaded, and he finally answered the call,” says the teaser from the Post, which regularly battles de Blasio.

De Blasio announced his entry into the crowded field on Thursday, immediately drawing the ire of President Trump, who called the mayor a “JOKE” on Twitter, adding “NYC HATES HIM!”
{mosads}The right-leaning Post has been a frequent antagonist of de Blasio, with a Post reporter removed from the 2018 Dominican Day parade after attempting to ask him a question.
The incident prompted a war of words between opinion editor Seth Mandel and CNN’s Brian Stelter over how Stelter handled an interview with de Blasio following the reporter’s removal.
