Life coach Tony Robbins’s book dropped by publisher amid scandals

Self-help guru Tony Robbins’s latest book has been dropped by its publisher amid multiple allegations of sexual assault and footage of him using racial slurs, according to BuzzFeed News.

Simon & Schuster removed “The Path: Accelerating Your Journey to Financial Freedom,” co-authored by Robbins and slated for release in July, from its website following the reports. While Robbins’s lawyers said in a statement that it was only a postponement and any claims the publisher had cut ties were “absolutely false,” a Simon & Schuster source told BuzzFeed News “We are not proceeding with publication of ‘The Path.’ ”

{mosads}Robbins has also left his position as chief of investor psychology at wealth management firm Creative Planning, where his former co-author Peter Mallouk serves as president, according to an updated filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Robbins joined the firm in 2016, co-authoring another book, “Unshakeable,” with Mallouk in 2017.

Creative Planning denied the move was in response to the allegations.

“The parting between Tony and Creative Planning was imminent regardless and it was a mutual decision and amicable,” Mallouk said in a statement. The firm said that while Robbins will no longer have a financial interest, he will still be “a client and continued supporter of the firm.”

Meanwhile, the book’s Amazon listing has changed its availability date from July 23, 2019, to December 31, 2050, and all information about its title and contents has been removed.

In a statement to The Hill, representatives for Robbins said that the book was “to be written by Peter Mallouk with contributions from Tony Robbins” and that “contractual terms were never reached nor finalized with its planned publisher.”

BuzzFeed News previously reported numerous women have said Robbins sexually harassed them and berated victims of rape. The news outlet also resurfaced a clip in which Robbins tells an audience “as long as someone calls you a n—– and gets that kind of response I’ve seen right now, where you’re ready to explode, and what you’ve done is given that person absolute control of you. You have no control in your life. You are still a slave.”
