Obama gets standing ovation at NBA Finals Game 2

Former President Obama heard chants of “MVP!” and received a standing ovation from fans in Toronto as he attended Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday evening.

Fans at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto broke into chants during the second quarter after Obama, an avid hoops fan, was shown on the big screen.

Obama could be seen standing up during the chants and ovation to acknowledge the crowd.

 

{mosads}Obama was shown entering the arena Sunday night with the Raptors’ president and general manager, Masai Ujiri, who joined Obama during a basketball-oriented event last year in Kenya.

The former president could be seen walking through a hallway in the arena with Ujiri while wearing a black leather jacket and greeting onlookers and reporters.

The 44th president sat next to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver during the game. 

The Golden State Warriors won, 109-104, tying the series with the Raptors at one game apiece as the teams head to California.

Obama also met Raptors superfan and rapper Drake while at the arena Sunday night.
