President Biden will address the National Governors Association (NGA) in a reception Friday at the White House as the state leaders hold their winter conference.
The White House this morning announced a new round of sanctions against Russia in response to the death of the imprisoned activist Alexei Navalny, targeted at those involved in his imprisonment, among others.
Although the gubernatorial office is sometimes considered a less-partisan role than the White House or Congress, the NGA meeting represents a concentration of some of the most important players in both the Democratic and Republican parties.
