Bob Woodward’s Watergate era condo is for sale

The apartment Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward used to communicate with his source Deep Throat while reporting on former President Nixon’s infamous Watergate scandal is on the market. 

The Dupont Circle 450-square-foot unit, since transformed from a studio to a one-bedroom condo, is on the market for $349,000, according to The Washington Post. 

{mosads}The 1718 P Street NW apartment also has a balcony – which Woodward reportedly relied on to communicate with Deep Throat, whose real name was Mark Felt. Woodward would place a flag in the flower pot on his balcony when he wanted to meet with Felt, according to the Post.

Felt would also leave copies of The Washington Post with Woodward’s apartment number, 617, in his lobby leaving discrete messages when he wanted to meet, The Washington Post reports. Felt reportedly would circle page 20 and drew the hands of a clock to indicate a meeting time. 

The condo was built in 1968. There’s $478 in condo fees a month, which includes access to the building’s pool.
