Trump supporter arrested outside campaign launch rally after slapping reporter’s phone

A man wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat was captured on video being arrested outside President Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign launch Tuesday night after he tried to slap away a phone held by an Orlando Sentinel reporter.

The Orlando Sentinel posted video of the incident, which took place outside Amway Center before Trump began speaking at the rally.

{mosads}The man, later identified as Daniel Kestner, approaches the Orlando Sentinel reporter asking if he is being taped and tells them to stop before attempting to knock the phone out of their hand.

“Are you taping?” Kestner can be heard asking. “I don’t want it. Stop. I want this. I want it, I want it. I promise I’ll take it.”

Two security guards then tell Kestner to leave the property as he continues to complain about the recording. The video resumes showing him being handcuffed by officers.

The local paper reported Wednesday that the man was arrested on a battery charge “for willingly striking” the reporter.

The reporter’s video and body-cam footage from an officer who was present were turned over to the police as evidence.

Kestner was reportedly taken to the Orange County Jail for holding.

The Hill has reached out to the Orlando Police Department for comment.
