Democratic lawmaker takes down ‘inappropriate’ post of Biden, actor Sydney Sweeney

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) took down a social media post, which he later referred to as “inappropriate,” shortly after it was posted Friday afternoon.

The post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, featured side-by-side pictures of actor Sydney Sweeney wearing a revealing outfit during her recent appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” and President Biden as he arrived at his State of the Union address on Thursday night.

The Biden photo captured the moment he seemed shocked to see Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), and was posted to make it appear the president was reacting to Sweeney herself. Moskowitz captioned the post with an emoji that depicts a pair of eyes looking to the left.

“It was inappropriate. I took it down,” Moskowitz later responded on X to a post about the earlier post.

The Hill has reached out to Moskowitz’s office for further comment.

On Thursday night, as Biden passed her in the House chamber, Greene was wearing a red Trump “Make America Great Again” hat and she handed Biden a pin that read “say her name Laken Riley.”

During the speech, the two had an exchange regarding Riley, a college student in Georgia who was killed while she was out jogging. A man who entered the country illegally has been charged in her death.

Moskowitz has been known to post jokes jokes and snarky content on his X account, including earlier this year when he responded to a post by “Sesame Street” character Elmo asking people how they were doing by saying, “Not well. I serve in Congress.”
