Ocasio-Cortez brushes off Trump tweet claiming she is ‘fuming’ over Tlaib, Omar attention
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) dismissed a tweet from President Trump that claimed she is “fuming” over recent attention to Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), two of her close allies in the House.
“Like it or not, Tlaib and Omar are fast becoming the face of the Democrat Party. Cortez (AOC) is fuming, not happy about this!” Trump tweeted earlier Friday.
Ocasio-Cortez responded to the message with a laughing emoji.

Trump said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should block Tlaib and Omar, both Muslim women who’ve been critical of Israel, from a planned visit this weekend. Israel then did so, despite vows by officials last month to welcome any members of Congress to the country.
Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Tlaib, along with Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), make up a group of progressive, freshmen congresswomen known collectively as “The Squad.” The four have carved an outsized presence on Capitol Hill since their inauguration in January, decrying Trump forcefully and publicly.
The group, all racial minorities, has sought to push their party further to the left. Trump, meanwhile, has sought to cast the group as the driving force behind the Democrats’ policy agenda in hopes of bolstering his conservative base.
