Police: New Jersey man accused of Taylor Swift break-in arrested after doing doughnuts on Trump golf course

A New Jersey man was arrested Monday night after allegedly doing “doughnuts” on the greens at President Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, N.J.

Richard J. McEwan, 26, was charged with criminal mischief after causing at least $17,000 in damage, according to CNBC. Police say McEwan did doughnuts twice in the last week on two different greens.

The Milford, N.J., resident was also arrested last month for allegedly breaking into musician Taylor Swift’s beach house in Rhode Island. Police found McEwan in the house without shoes, which he said he took off to be “polite,” Westerly Police Chief Shawn Lacey told The Westerly Sun.

McEwan was reportedly charged with breaking and entering and trespassing before being released on bond on Sept. 3. Later that same day, the first signs of damage were reported on Trump’s golf course.

The second incident occurred on Sunday, and a witness caught part of the license plate of the blue Ford sedan with a Rutgers University sticker.

McEwan has since been released and will be back for a future court date, according to reports.

“He will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” a Trump Organization spokesperson said in a statement to The Hill.
