White House releases menu for Australian state dinner
First lady Melania Trump’s office has released details on the food and entertainment awaiting Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his wife, Jennifer Morrison, at Friday evening’s state dinner, President Trump’s second of his administration.
In a statement, the White House said the particulars of the event “were all carefully selected by the First Lady to reflect the strong ties between the United States and Australia.”
Here’s a brief overview of what awaits the Morrisons:
State dinner
The official colors of the visit are green and gold, the national colors of Australia. Dinner will be served in the Rose Garden and feature various American yellow and white roses. The selected china includes alternating patterns from Clinton and George W. Bush administrations.
Menu
First course: Sunchoke Ravioli, Reggiano Cream, Shaved Summer Vegetables
Main course: Roasted Dover Sole with Parsley Crisps and Fennell Mousseline, Zucchini Squash Blossoms, Baby Garlic Rouille
Dessert: Lady Apple Tart, Calvados Ice Cream
Entertainment
The following military musical groups will perform: “The President’s Own” United States Marine Chamber Orchestra, United States Army Chorus, United States Army Herald Trumpets, United States Army Strings, United States Navy Band Sea Chanters, United States Air Force Strings, United States Air Force Singing Sergeants.
The guest list and the first lady’s gown details will be made public at the beginning of dinner.
