Jury pool of 300 to be questioned on Annapolis newspaper mass shooting

A group of 300 potential jurors will be in court Friday to answer questions before possibly joining the trial over the mass shooting last year that killed five people at a newspaper in Annapolis, Md.

Judge Laura Ripken is using a questionnaire to select the jury in the case against Jarrod Ramos, the accused shooter at the Capital Gazette newspaper, according to The Associated Press. 

{mosads}Ramos has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder and has pleaded not guilty and not criminally responsible.

Legal experts told the AP that the questionnaire will help to quickly find people who can’t serve on the jury because of biases in the well-known case. 

Jury selection will officially begin Oct. 30, according to the wire service.
