Russian soldier allegedly opens fire on Siberian base, killing 8
Eight people were killed when a Russian soldier allegedly opened fire at a military base in Siberia.
The service member allegedly opened fire, killing two officers and six enlisted individuals, CNN reported Friday, citing a statement from Russia’s Investigative Committee.{mosads}
The suspect, identified as Pvt. Ramil Shamsutdinov, was reportedly detained.
The shooting took place during a guard shift at around 6:20 p.m. local time, CNN reported, citing the country’s defense ministry. Two people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
