File – Donald Trump is seen with blood on his face as he is taken off the stage at a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, July 13, 2024.

The second man injured during the attempted assassination against former President Trump has been discharged from a hospital in Pittsburgh, a spokesperson for the hospital group confirmed to The Hill.

James Copenhaver, 74, was discharged from Allegheny General Hospital last Friday, a spokesperson for Highmark Health told The Hill.

He was one of two spectators injured during the shooting at Trump’s campaign rally on July 13 in Butler, Pa. The other injured attendee, David “Jake” Dutch, 57, was released from Allegheny General Hospital last week, CBS News reported.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.

It comes just over two weeks since the shooting, where a spectator, Corey Comperatore, was killed, and former president was wounded when a bullet struck his ear while he delivered a speech to the rally.

An online fundraiser promoted by Trump and his allies in honor of Comperatore and two others wounded in the shooting raised more than $6 million.

Copenhaver’s family, in a statement reported by KDKA in Butler, thanked those caring for him last week and offered prayers to the other shooting victims.

“Jim would like to especially thank the first responders, medics, and hospital staff who have provided him with initial and continuing care,” the family said in a statement released by Allegheny Health Network, per KDKA. “He prays for a safe and speedy recovery for them all.”

Moon Township Supervisor Al Quaye told KDKA Copenhaver often attended board meetings.

“Jim’s a super nice guy, and I couldn’t believe it happened to him,” Quaye told the outlet.

Trump last week said he intends to return to Butler for another campaign rally, though it is unclear when or where the rally will take place. The Secret Service, which has come under scrutiny in the wake of the Butler rally, has urged Trump and his team against holding outdoor rallies following the shooting.

The former president has held multiple campaign events since the shooting, including one in Michigan and one in North Carolina. The former president has worn a bandage over his ear where he was shot at each of his public appearances since the Butler rally.
