Harris campaign announces $310M fundraising haul in July

Vice President Harris’s campaign on Friday announced a $310 million fundraising haul in July, bringing its war chest to $377 million.

The haul is the best grassroots fundraising month in presidential history, the campaign said. The vice president announced her intention to seek the Democratic presidential nomination after President Biden dropped out of the race July 21, and the full July total includes money Biden raised before the switch.

The haul also includes the $200 million Harris raised in the week after she announced her bid.

The campaign said two-thirds of the fundraising in July came from first-time donors, of which there were more than 2 million.

Additionally, 94 percent of donations were under $200, and July included more than 10 times the number of Gen Z donors, according to the campaign.

Former President Trump’s campaign raised nearly $139 million in July, it announced Thursday. It has $327 million in cash on hand.

The Harris campaign also announced Friday that the Biden campaign, which has since become the Harris campaign, raised $1 billion since Biden launched his reelection bid in April 2023. Biden handed over the Biden-Harris fundraising committee to Harris when he dropped out of the race.
