Pence celebrates Trump’s acquittal: ‘It’s over, America’
Vice President Pence celebrated President Trump’s acquittal in the Senate Wednesday while at a campaign event in Camp Hill, Pa.
The vice president mentioned that the Senate voted to acquit Trump of both articles of impeachment, prompting the crowd to chant “Four more years!”
“You know it’s amazing to think about after months of a sham investigation, a partisan impeachment, it’s over, America,” he said.

Pence was in Pennsylvania, a state that earned Trump the presidency back in 2016, to gin up support for the upcoming election.
“I’m here for one reason and one reason only, and that is that Pennsylvania and America need four more years of President Donald Trump in the White House,” Pence said.
The Senate voted to acquit the president mainly along partisan lines, with Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) swaying from the GOP to convict Trump of abuse of power. Ultimately, neither charge received enough votes to convict the president.
The House launched the inquiry into the president in October after a whistleblower report detailed a call in which Trump asked the Ukrainian president to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden while withholding almost $400 million in military aid from the country.
