Strzok-Page play ‘FBI Lovebirds: UnderCovers’ to be performed at CPAC

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) will host a performance later this month of a play based on the texts sent between a former lawyer and agent at the FBI who are regularly ridiculed by President Trump. 

“FBI Lovebirds: UnderCovers” will be formed at the conservative confab in a performance set to feature “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” star Dean Cain and “Buffy the Vampire” star Kristy Swanson, both supporters of President Trump, according to multiple media reports.

The reports were confirmed by a CPAC organizer.

The performance is based on the text messages between former FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who both criticized Trump as a candidate as the FBI was investigating him.

The texts were released publicly by the Justice Department in December 2017, sparking outrage from Trump and many conservatives.

In the messages, Strzok and Page disparage Trump in messages sent on government issued cellphones. The two were having an extramarital affair.

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office — that there’s no way he gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before 40,” Strzok writes to Page in one 2016 text, referring to now-fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

Trump has repeatedly referred to the pair as “FBI lovers” at rallies and speeches, including during a Thursday celebration of his impeachment acquittal in the Senate. He has used the texts to argue the investigations of his 2016 campaign were politically motivated.

“When you have Lisa and Peter, the lovers, the FBI lovers,” Trump said before referring to the text messages. “‘There’s no way he gets elected,’ meaning me.”

Page has criticized the president over the repeated public attacks, saying in an interview last year with The Daily Beast that a breaking point came when Trump called her name over and over in what she described as a “demeaning fake orgasm” meant to mock she and Strzok. 

“I had stayed quiet for years hoping it would fade away, but instead it got worse,” she said in the interview. 

CPAC will be held in National Harbor, Md., from Feb. 26 to Feb. 29. More than 10,000 people attended the event last year.
