Police ID suspect at Trump’s Virginia campaign office
Local police said Wednesday that they have identified a suspect behind a break-in of a Trump campaign office in the Virginia suburbs outside of Washington, D.C.
According to a release from the Loudoun County sheriff’s office (LSCO), 39-year-old Toby Shane Kessler was behind the break-in at a Trump campaign office in Ashburn, Va., that occurred Sunday.
“The burglary occurred at approximately 8:11 pm and was captured by surveillance video inside the office,” the release reads. “The LCSO’s investigation determined that Mr. Kessler forced entry into a back door of the location and spent a brief period of time inside before leaving. He appears to have left nothing behind, and it is still unclear what, if anything, he took with him. The investigation is ongoing.”
“The LCSO is working with other law enforcement agencies to locate Mr. Kessler and is asking the public’s assistance,” the release continued. “He is a white adult male, and was wearing dark clothing, a dark cap, and a backpack when he entered the location. Mr. Kessler has a history of criminal behavior and appears to have been in the Washington metropolitan area at least since 2018. He has a California driver’s license.”

The LSCO’s release also said that they have “secured a warrant for the arrest of” Kessler.
Earlier this week, the FBI confirmed it was starting an investigation in the wake of the Trump campaign saying it was hacked and that internal documents had been leaked.
“We can confirm the FBI is investigating this matter,” the agency said via email.
