Former President Barack Obama, former first lady Michelle Obama and second gentleman Doug Emhoff are headlining the second night of speeches at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

The super-power couple still own a home in the Windy City’s neighborhood of Kenwood. Although it’s no longer their primary residence, the Obamas will doubtless receive an enthusiastic welcome home from the crowd gathered at the United Center for the convention.

Vice President Kamala Harris, if elected in November, would in a sense continue a dynasty started by the 44th president, since President Biden himself served as V.P. under Obama. Commentators have drawn parallels in the excitement Democrats have shown for Harris and the energetic Obama campaign in 2008.

The convention’s coverage starts Tuesday at 5 p.m. EDT.
