Chuck Todd’s ‘MTP Daily’ moves time slots, Nicolle Wallace expands to two hours

MSNBC is making changes to its afternoon lineup.

The cable network confirmed to The Hill on Monday that Chuck Todd’s “MTP Daily” will move from 5 p.m. to 1 p.m., while Nicolle Wallace‘s “Deadline: White House” will expanding to a two-hour format.

The changes also have Ayman Mohyeldin, co-anchor of “Morning Joe First Look” at 5 a.m., moving to the network’s 3 p.m. time slot.

The changes, first reported by Variety, will take effect Aug. 17.

MSNBC also said that starting next month, Todd will anchor a weekly hourlong political news program on NBC News NOW, the network’s 24-hour streaming news service, and Peacock, NBCUniversal’s new streaming platform.

“Ultimately, I’d do ‘Meet the Press’ as a channel someday,” Todd, who hosts “Meet the Press” on Sunday mornings, told USA Today’s “Talking Tech” podcast in June. “I think that every smart news program that has a legacy will view itself more as a channel than as a show.”

Wallace, a White House communications director under former President George W. Bush and a top adviser to 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain, previously worked at CBS News, ABC News and as a co-host on “The View.”

“Deadline: White House” launched on MSNBC in 2017. Wallace finished July as the most-watched anchor at 4 p.m. among the three major cable news networks.

MSNBC finished July as the second-most-watched network on cable, with its highest ratings for the month in its 24-year history.
