Marc Lotter discussed the strategy of President Trump’s reelection campaign surrounding TV ads and its decision to pull commercials during the Republican National Convention.
Asked on Hill.TV’s “Rising” about an Associated Press report about the Trump campaign pulling most of its TV advertising over the past week, Lotter said on Wednesday it was a “strategic decision” made due to coverage of the convention.
“What we basically did is take the ads down during the Republican National Convention because we were commanding the airwaves anyway,” Lotter, the campaign’s director of strategic communications, said.
“It was a strategic decision, it was a business-like decision,” he continued, adding that the campaign is now up with ads in five battleground states.
