(L-R) Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Rob Reiner, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn, Carol Kane, and Billy Crystal attend the 25th anniversary screening & cast reunion of “The Princess Bride” during the 50th New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on October 2, 2012 in New York City.

The cast of “The Princess Bride” is reuniting for a virtual table read to raise money for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

The virtual event will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 13, four days before absentee ballots are scheduled to be sent out across the state.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the idea came after the former cast of “The West Wing” reunited to promote When We All Vote, the voter registration initiative co-chaired by former first lady Michelle Obama

Cary Elwes, who played Westley in the film, is a childhood friend of a staffer of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, according to the Journal.

Ben Wikler, chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, is reportedly a fan of the film, which he quoted during a toast at his sister’s wedding.

Wisconsin is a key battleground state in the presidential election, with most polls showing Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden ahead. President Trump won Wisconsin in 2016 by less than 1 percentage point.

“People are coming together to make good things happen and that’s what the country needs,” Wikler told the Journal. “It gives me hope for the election and for the country.”
