Watch live: Waltz, Donalds, Leavitt speak at CPAC Day 2
National security adviser Mike Waltz will give remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday morning in Maryland.
His remarks will come amid scrutiny over the Trump administration’s response to the war between Russia and Ukraine — now just days away from its third anniversary. President Trump earlier this week seemingly blamed Ukraine for the conflict.
Waltz, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, traveled to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to begin peace talks with Russian leaders. Ukraine was notably left out of the conversation, sparking concern from both sides of the aisle and abroad.
Waltz said Thursday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky needs to “tone it down” amid his escalating feud with President Trump.
Other notable names speaking Thursday are Mike Lindell, Kari Lake, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), Megyn Kelly and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Waltz’s speech is expected to begin at 9:55 a.m. EST.
