Loeffler tweets edited video showing Trump taking down coronavirus in wrestling match
Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) and others are cheering on President Trump’s fight against the coronavirus, with Loeffler tweeting out an edited video that shows a wrestling match between Trump and COVID-19.
“COVID stood NO chance against @realDonaldTrump,” Loeffler captioned the video in her tweet, which came hours before Trump returned to the White House after being hospitalized with the coronavirus.
The video is from WrestleMania 23 in 2007, when Trump competed versus WWE head Vince McMahon during a staged “battle of the billionaires” fight in which each man chose one wrestler to represent him.
Trump previously tweeted a video from the event himself, edited to show him fighting CNN.

The Trump campaign also tweeted an edited video on Monday, showing Trump in a football clip scoring a touchdown against the coronavirus.
And Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) tweeted, “President Trump won’t have to recover from COVID. COVID will have to recover from President Trump.”

While Trump supporters retweeted the sentiments shared by Loeffler and others, many criticized the tone struck in the tweet, suggesting it was disrespectful to those who have died from the virus.

Trump around 6:30 p.m. left Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he had spent three days being treated for the coronavirus.
The president announced his positive test early Friday morning and was later transferred to the hospital for treatment.
Loeffler is running in a multicandidate special election to fill the seat of retired Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.). The winner of the election will fill the remainder of the term, which ends in 2022.
Several candidates of both parties are running in the crowded race. Democrats in the race include the Rev. Raphael Warnock and Matt Lieberman.
If no candidate wins a majority of the vote on Election Day, the top two finishers will advance to a runoff in January.
