Boris Johnson had a fowl run-in at a wildlife park, with video posted online Sunday showing a feisty ostrich nipping at the former British prime minister’s arm during a sightseeing excursion.

“Ow!” Johnson exclaimed while recoiling, seemingly followed by inaudible expletives.

His wife, Carrie Johnson, posted the clip to her Instagram feed Monday with the caption, “Too funny not to share,” and a crying-laughing emoji.

During the encounter, Johnson’s son, Wilfred, was sitting in his father’s lap in a car with the window rolled down. The ostrich made its way over to the car Johnson was driving, then the bird quickly stuck its head through the window for a peck at Johnson’s arm. The boy continued to laugh through his father’s reaction.

The family has been in Texas recently, according to social media posts, and USA Today reported that it’s presumed the exchange took place at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas, “where [ostriches] are known for getting a little rambunctious.”

Fossil Rim and Johnson didn’t immediately respond to The Hill’s requests for comment.

Johnson served as the leader of Britain from 2019 to 2022.
