Watch: FCC Chair Brendan Carr unveils policy agenda in first major speech

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr gave his first major address since taking on the role, outlining the Trump administration’s “Build America” agenda Wednesday afternoon.

Carr’s remarks came as President Trump and the administration have turned up the heat on public broadcasters — primarily NPR and PBS — and other mainstream media outlets in recent weeks, even threatening to take away broadcast licenses.

It also followed news that Paramount settled a lawsuit between Trump and CBS’s “60 Minutes” for $16 million — which was sparked by the show’s interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.

The speech, from Sioux Falls, S.D., was scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
