Israel “Izzy” Klein, former deputy staff director for Democrats on the Joint Economic Committee, and Matthew Johnson, former chief counsel to Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), will work on the account.

HEALTH CARE 

Pharmaceutical company EMD Serono Inc. hired Capitol Counsel to work on health policy proposals coming before the House and the Biden administration pertaining to the availability and pricing of prescription drugs. Ann Jablon, former chief of staff to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.), and Robert Diamond, former special assistant to the president and director of private sector engagement under former President Obama, will work on the account.

LABOR 

Yum Restaurant Services Group LLC, whose brands include KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut, hired Forbes Tate Partners to work on issues related to the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017, labor requirements, and privacy and data collection. Jay Driscoll, former legislative assistant under ex-Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), and Francesca McCrary, former legislative assistant to the late Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), will work on the account.

EDUCATION

The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools hired Strategies 360 to work on federal funding for charter schools. Livia Lam, former senior labor policy adviser for Democrats on the House Education and Labor Committee, will work on the account.

Yes Every Kid Inc., which provides educational support for K-12-age children, hired Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen & Thomas to work on ensuring state and local flexibility to use federal education dollars to best meet the needs of individual families and school-age children. Bruce Mehlman, former general counsel and policy director for the House Republican Conference, and David Castagnetti, former chief of staff to ex-Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), will be among those working on the account.

The American Civil Liberties Union hired Keefe Singiser Partners to work on criminal justice reform issues. Maura Keefe, former chief of staff to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), will work on the account.
